With Google limiting cloud storage to 15 GB, it’s a good idea to look at what you are storing and clear space if possible.
I have found out recently if your storage space is completely full, you won’t be able to send or receive emails until you clear some space. This happened to a friend last week. She was waiting on some important emails and her email just quit working. After some research we figured out that her storage was full and she fixed the problem.
One of the fastest ways to clear up some space is to clean out your old emails. Using a web browser, log into your Google mail account. Across the top of your messages there are three tabs – Primary, Social, and Promotions. Your Primary tab will contain all those emails that your friends and business accounts send to you. This is where you’ll need to be more discretionary in making deletions.
Under the Promotions tab are emails that are mostly Ads. Take a quick look to see if you need any of the info before deleting. At the top left under the “Search mail” box, click on the checkbox. It will select all the emails on the page that you can see. You could delete these emails page by page, but that would take some time. Across the top in blue, you will see “Select all ### conversations in Promotions - ### is the number of emails that you have in Promotions. If you click on that sentence, all emails will be selected and highlighted. Click the small trash can symbol that is under the “Search mail” box. You will be prompted to verify that you want to perform this “Bulk Action”.
When confirmed, all these emails are moved into your Trash folder. Go to Trash folder by clicking on “Trash” along the left side of your screen. Click “Empty Trash Now” at the top in blue lettering to empty. If you don’t do this step, your trash will remain on the mail server for 30 days before emptied automatically.
You can use this technique on any of your folders, but make sure you really want to delete everything in the folder. You can also delete individual emails, by clicking the checkbox, next to a single email.

I’ve lived in the Randle area for the past 20 years, moving here from Kent in 1999 to get out of the city life and never looked back. I have three children, my oldest daughter lives in Seattle and the younger daughter and son live in Randle. I’m blessed with three beautiful grandkids.
I started working with computers in the early 80’s when I worked at the Air Traffic Control Center (FAA) in Auburn, WA. I worked there for 12 years and eventually ended up in the computer lab overseeing new Air Traffic Control students doing their required computer training. From there, I took a job with Boeing in their Computer Based Training department developing the computer training materials that airplane customers receive when they buy Boeing’s planes. Except for a few Boeing layoffs and re-hires, I worked there until 2015 when our department was disolved and the work moved elsewhere to save money.
Since leaving Boeing I have worked at a variety of jobs in the valley. While working at Fischer’s Market I met Robert. After he learned of my computer background he told me he was wanting to retire at some point and was looking for someone to work with him and possibly pass the torch to. For the past 6 months or so I’ve been working as his assistant and learning his business. On March 31, I officially purchased ComputerFAQ from him and am very excited to continue his work.
