I’ve lived in the Randle area for the past 20 years, moving here from Kent in 1999 to get out of the city life and never looked back. I have three children, my oldest daughter lives in Seattle and the younger daughter and son live in Randle. I’m blessed with three beautiful grandkids. |
Happy New Year! – Now Clean Up Your Computer!!!
We made it to 2021! I hope this year brings lots of good things for all of us. My mom always told me that the condition that your house is in at the beginning of the year sets the stage for what it will be like the rest of the year. Don’t look at the dust bunnies, or in my case dog hair under the furniture!
Jokes aside, the New Year is a good time to do some cleanup on your computers so you can start the year off fresh in your digital life. Here are a few ideas on what to clean up---and I’m going to try to take my own advice.
Back up your computer. This is a great time to make sure you have a current back up of what’s on your computer before you start doing any other clean up. That way if you accidentally delete something that you later need, you will have it.
Clean out your old emails. If you’re like me, you get A LOT of emails every day. While we are all busy it’s easy to just ignore off the junk and get on with your day. Look through your inbox and unsubscribe to things you no longer have an interest in getting email about. Most email apps have an option to mark items as spam so they can be filtered out next time they arrive. Yes, this is a never-ending process.
Check your recycle bin. Here’s where the backup comes in handy. Don’t empty your recycle bin without looking to see what’s in there. You can save space on your hard drive by emptying it regularly but make sure you didn’t accidently delete something you need. But hey, you’ve got your backup, right?
These are just a few simple things you can do to get your computer ready for the New Year. If you have any questions on how to accomplish these give me a call or send me an email.
