Got Smarts?
Back when Smart TVs first came about, I was very reluctant to the idea.  I didn’t want my TV getting on the internet!  Why should it?  Luckily for me I’ve moved on with my thinking and now I exclusively use streaming for all my TV watching.

There are so many “Smart” devices on the market now which make our lives easier and a bit more fun.  Have you seen the smart light bulbs?  You put them in your lamps or light sockets and then control them with an App on your phone or tablet.  You can turn them on and off and even change their color depending on your mood.

One of my favorite smart devices though is the smart plug.  These devices plug into your regular wall outlet and connect to your internet wirelessly.  There are multiple companies that make these plugs, and they are reasonably priced.  The one that I have was around $20 on Amazon.

It is controlled by an App that I downloaded from the App Store.  I can then set a time of day to turn the plug on and turn it off ahead of time if I wish.  I can also manually turn it on and off from anywhere that I have either a Wi-Fi or cell signal.

Remember the old dial timers that we used to use to turn our lights on at night when we were away from home for a few days?  The smart plug makes this so much easier.  You can plug your lamp or tv into it and then set up a schedule of on and off times.  The App has a calendar so you could set different times for different days.

If you are looking to get into the world of smart-home devices, give a smart plug a try.  They are super easy to set up and use.

Have a great week!
