“God named the light day, and the darkness He named night. There was evening, then morning- the first day.” Genesis 1:5
I found this verse a most interesting aspect to God’s created day: ‘there was evening then morning the first day.’ Our day begins in the morning, but God’s created day began with evening. Why night first then day? When God began to create it says, “The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep water.” This isn’t an insignificant record. Everything about this event speaks to God always meeting us in the dark formless empty times of our lives. He came into a dark situation and spoke the power of His light. His invited presence into our trouble will always bring light and direction.
Pride is a wall that keeps us from accepting His intervention. If we don’t tear down the wall of pride we’ll continue to wallow, make excuses and play the blame game. In the dark you don’t see clearly your surroundings, but as soon as light is introduced the shroud of darkness is removed and you can see what’s actually there. Most don’t want the light of God’s truth to shine on their lives, because it immediately reveals the good and the bad. God doesn’t want us to live in total darkness or He wouldn’t have created light to eradicate the darkness.
God said, “Let there be light.” He created it just for you, step into the light and enjoy His presence.
