Weed n’ Feed
“The one who plants and the one who waters really do not matter. It is God who matters, because he makes the plant grow.” 1 Corinthians 3:7
My pleasure is a vibrant green weed free yard. I can’t stand yellow grass nor do I like weeds. There’s two ways to achieve this; constantly pulling the weeds as they pop up or by applying weed n’ feed in the spring and fall. I didn’t plant the grass and I surely didn’t plant weeds, but I have to groom and maintain if it’s to grow and be healthy.
Some years ago the Word of God was planted in my life, but I’ve had to daily apply it for continued growth and to be healthy both physically and spiritually. The Bible is God's weed n’ feed for my life and by applying daily my spiritual yard is healthy and vibrant, but when I avoid time in the Word I don’t get watered and fed and weeds take over and eventually dry lifelessness overtakes me. It becomes difficult to
function and reason with wisdom and clarity.
The Bible is living and will infuse life into our lives if applied. Some avoid the Bible because it's conviction and the light it shines upon the weeds that are growing in their lives. Others seem to have a
difficult time with the growth that’s inevitable when the Bible is applied. Without the application of the Word of God death and bareness will be your companion, but don’t lose heart, just as a
seemingly dead yard can be brought back to life by watering, so also the living water of God’s word can revive your life. Don’t be fearful of letting the Lord apply His weed n’ feed into your life, be
frightened of the weeds that will choke your life.
