Make A Hole
“Many people had gathered. There was no room left, even in front of the door. Jesus was speaking God's word to them. Four men came to him carrying a paralyzed man. Since they could not bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof over the place where Jesus was. Then they lowered the cot on which the paralyzed man was lying. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the man, "Friend, your sins are forgiven.” Mark 2:2-5
There are times when we desperately need friends who’ll tear open the roof of heaven and place us into the presence of the Lord, who’ll stand when we can’t and boldly petition urgently for us. Oh, the blessing of friends!
Is there someone we know who can’t speak of the source of their pain? Are they paralyzed and unable to get to Jesus on their own? If we’re observant we’ll see and know it’s time to pick them up, press in and tear the roof of heaven open on their behalf. These friends knew their friend was afflicted and that he didn’t have the ability to get to Jesus. They knew Jesus could heal and didn’t get discouraged when they saw the crowd between them and their friends deliverance. They didn’t ask permission of the homeowner. He didn’t ask them to do this. Because they cared, they acted without waiting for him to ask.
When Jesus saw their action of faith He healed the man.
Live observant with a spirit of boldness. People who are suffering and paralyzed by their circumstances can’t get to Jesus on their own surround you. Life has become crowded and they can’t get through. They need you to make a hole and carry them to the source of their healing and deliverance. Your faith can affect a miracle, tear open the roof!
