It looks like it is time for a warning. Email phishing attacks are on the rise, and I am getting several a day. This first one is very insidious and looks like a friend sent you a spreadsheet as a PDF. I don’t know any Johns that would send a spreadsheet, but if you do and you open it and download it to your PC, it is now infected with a macro that can do almost anything to your computer. Do not open any attachment if you do not know who sent it to you.
You have received a new document
John has sent you a document "March-Receipt.pdf" using Google docs.
Please view the document by clicking on the "Review Document" button below:
The document will be removed from our system on its given expiry date.
The next phishing attempt I got was to verify my PayPal account information, but if you click on the “Confirm my account” button, it will not take you to PayPal, it will take you to a lookalike web site and will steal any personal information they ask for. Two things told me this was not legitimist, First it was sent to my Computerfaq@highwayshopper account, that I never use for contact information, and a real PayPal email will have your PayPal name in the first line not “Dear Customer (s),”
Dear Customer (s) ,
Due to recent updates we are asking many of customers to confirm their informations.
