Then He said to me, "Son of man, stand on your feet that I may speak with you!" Ezekiel 2:1
Are we to cower or be afraid
to stand before the Lord? I can find nothing in the Bible that
tells me to cower or crawl as a worm hoping He'll receive me.
We're to honor and fear Him, not to be afraid, but to respect
and revere.
When He came to Ezekiel He told him to get up and stand before
Him. He wanted to speak face to face. The Lord's desire is to
have an open face-to-face relationship with us; He wants not only
to be Lord, but your best friend and confidant. Is this possible?
Yes, because it was His plan from the beginning. However, friendship
with God has been twisted by sin and even though it scarred the
perfect relationship, it has not taken away His desire to be your
best friendship.
The rulers of this world have a twisted understanding of what
it means to be a sovereign. They separate themselves and behave
as if they were "gods", but our Lord who is "God"
welcomes you with open arms and a willingness to speak with you
face to face. He's not waiting with a 2x4 for you to mess up,
but with an unconditional love to forgive and embrace you.
Any ruler on this earth does not know you and they don't care
to know anything about you, but the God who created heaven and
earth knows you. He knows everything about you, what concerns
you and is waiting for you to trust Him to accomplish great things
for your life.
