O Baby! For today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:11
Looking into the face of a
newborn baby conjures up all sorts of emotions. We loose control
of ourselves. We coo and make unusual noises. We don't necessarily
care how silly we look; we're moved to an emotional reaction that
a little baby can evoke.
We're all moved by something that creates in us an uncontrollable
emotion. It can be hunting, fishing, football, shopping or many
other things. When we're passionate about something, the joy
it brings can be beyond words, yet others see it just the same.
Christmas for me is passion. It's all that is good
and joyful. It's not the presents I give or receive, though I
do love to give! It's the presence of Christ and all that He
gave up to be born in the most humble of circumstances for the
benefit of this world and mankind. To be born just for me - this
has made an incredible impact on my life.
This baby was born in obscurity and without fanfare. He was born
with a mission to give me the greatest gift ever, a chance to
have the broken relationship restored and to never leave me without
hope and love.
O, baby, what a gift! There isn't any package big enough, any
bow bright enough nor any tag large enough to hold the greatest
gift ever.
As you open your gifts this Christmas remember the gift that was
born for each of us and open It as well. It'll be the best thing
you've ever received.
Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above,
coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation
or shifting shadow. James 1:17
