She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus Matthew 1:21
As each year passes it seems that we
are loosing the true meaning of Christmas. People smile less
and are less cordial. And to say Merry Christmas has become almost
a criminal act in many places. As the holiday season approaches
we are overrun with a media blitz that rivals any military invasion.
We are told that for Christmas to be great we must buy what they
are selling.
It's time we demanded Christmas back and all the traditions that
goes with it. Trees adorned with lights everywhere, nativities
in our city squares, carolers singing their hearts out from street
to street as well as smiles and greetings of Merry Christmas from
each of us.
Let's remember that Christmas isn't about what is under our tree,
but who is around the tree with us. Whether we buy all the things
that we are told make Christmas or not isn't going to matter in
six months. But the memories that we choose to make are going
to be the precious gifts we can unwrap over and over in the years
to come. I can't remember too many of the gifts I have received
over the years, but I can remember the events of most years.
If we will change our focus and teach our children to change their
focus from receiving to giving, how rich we will truly be. This
Christmas let us give a hug, a smile, a note from our hearts,
our forgiveness, our unconditional love; things that can never
be purchased, but given freely.
So say it loud and proud, Merry Christmas. And
when you wish someone Merry Christmas think about the season and
feel it deep down.
Merry Christmas to all and remember, Jesus is the reason in all
seasons.
For to us a child is born, to us
a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting
Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6
