A Cracked Pot
Become the kind of container God can use to present any and every kind of gift to his guests for their blessing. 2 Timothy 2:21
I bought a coffee maker not
long ago. Two months later the handle fell off. You can imagine
I was a bit frustrated. I stood looking at my brand new pretty
orange coffee maker, handle in my hand and not on the carafe.
One morning as I awkwardly poured a cup of coffee the Lord reminded
me that I don't have a handle! On life that is. It's His job
to handle my life! If I don't allow God to handle all things
I can't be poured out in the life of someone else.
And just because the handle broke I didn't throw it away. I have
figured out how to use what is broken each day. Why? Because
I am determined to have coffee. Likewise, as we are full of flaws
because of sin, God doesn't throw us out either. He also knows
how to use us broken. He's just as determined.
We are the only ones standing in the way of how God wants to use
us. We are full of excuses, I'm a failure, I don't need God,
He couldn't possibly forgive me, or the ever popular, what could
I ever be used for? If I can figure out how to use a broken coffee
pot, God can surely use us. A smile, a shared tear, helping hands,
the list goes on. The first step, say yes, then wait and see
what He can do with a pot that has no handle .
Show me your paths and
teach me to follow; guide me by your truth and instruct me You
keep me safe, and I always trust you. Psalm 25: 4-5
