SinIn archery there is a term
used for missing the bulls-eye, it's called "Sinning".
It simply means to miss the intended mark.
We like to think of sin in degrees. What they have done is much
worse than what I have done. The Bible says we have all missed
the mark.
There is an old saying "Close only counts in horseshoes and
hand grenades". The truth is there is no close when it comes
to sin. It separates us from, God who desires to have us spend
eternity with Him and close doesn't cut it. We don't get there
because we do good things. We won't get there because we have
suffered so much down here. We can only get there by the forgiveness
of the "sin" (missing the targeted mark) in our lives.
And we "ALL" have. No one on this earth has been spared
from the curse of sin. But Jesus did provide a way of being redeemed
from the curse. His life and His blood.
Jesus didn't come to condemn but to save and spare. He doesn't
carry a 2x4 to beat us into salvation, but He carried a cross
to love us to salvation. Whether we accept His gift of love is
a choice. There are many choices we face in life; I encourage
you to make the choice that will gain eternal life. The good news
is that Romans 3 goes on to our hope.
