The LORD is my light and my salvation; I will fear no one.
The LORD protects me from all danger; I will never be afraid.

Pit to Palace: Part One

"For I know the plans that I have for you, "declares the Lord, "plans for welfare and not for calamity, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11

We have suffered a wrong because of others. Does it have to lead to resentment and bitterness? We face a choice - To rise above or be buried below?

Joseph faced this choice. In a dream he had, his brothers bowed down to him. They sold him into slavery because they were angry at him. His master Potipher put him in charge of his household, God blessed him and everything prospered. Potipher's wife lied about Joseph - Potipher had him jailed. God gave him favor, the jailer put Joseph in charge of the prisoners. Two men from the palace were thrown into jail. They each had a dream and Joseph interpreted them. The cupbearer would be restored to service in three days, the baker would be hanged and it happened. Joseph asked the cupbearer to remember him to the king. He promised, then forgot. He remained imprisoned for two more years until the king had two dreams that no one could interpret. The cupbearer remembered Joseph. Joseph interpreted the king's dream. There would be seven good years of growing and seven years of famine. The king made Joseph Prime Minister. Egypt stored up grain, when the famine came they were prepared.

He didn't know what his future held, but he know who held his future. He choose to rise above.

For God has said, "I will never leave you; I will never abandon you." Hebrews 13:5
