A: The best answer is not to have your dog in your car in hot weather. If you must, try to keep it to morning hours when the weather is cooler.
Always have water available on the floor of the car. Leave windows cracked and park in the shade. You may want to leave a note to do-gooders that says when you will return to keep people from breaking into your car to rescue your dog! Put your cell number on it and have your phone on you.
You should also have a thermometer that is visible to the outside to let people know that it is not too hot in the car. However, my best recommendation is to leave your dog at home in hot weather.
