Ask Dr. Kaia for Sept. 15, 2004 This week I am going to ask the question. I euthanize animals all the time that have not been seen by a veterinarian or treated for the condition that is making their life not worth living.
I am wondering what is stopping people from seeking treatment for their pets? I know that people love their animals so I can only assume that they aren't aware that treatments are available and affordable.
The most common condition that I see is arthritis. This is very common in the hips and elbows in older dogs. However, there is treatment that really helps! The cost is not that high. I charge 25 dollars for an office visit. No X-rays are required. Cost ranges from pennies a day to a dollar and change a day for large dogs, more if they are really huge.
Please pass this information on to your friends.
If your dog is having trouble jumping on the bed or into the car, seek help. Thanks for your time.
