Aug. 3, 2005 Hi, All!
This Week:
A couple of email questions answeredSubject: Log in names
Hi- I was wondering if u could answer this question for me? I have windows XP. On different sites I visit I have a log in name and in most sites I accidentally typed the wrong or different name and pushed enter without even noticing what I did. Now when I go back to those sites and left double click the log in name, I will have my log in name and my error ones come up. Can I somehow delete the unwanted log in names?
BrianThanks for writing. Your question is a good one and easy to answer. Whenever you have a drop down box with the wrong data, place your cursor on it to highlight it and press the Delete key. That is all there is to it.
Subject: Cloning a laptop to a USB drive
Did you ever get the laptop drive cloned using an external USB drive? (Re: Your May 18 article) I need to figure out how to do this if possible.
Thanks for your help.
CraigNo. As of today, I have not been able to clone the drive, using several
methods and software. I have downloaded a trial version of a new program, that
says it will back up to any connection. I will give that a try today or tomorrow.
I did have everything working by using a PC and Maxtor software,
but I had to plug the drives into the PC's cables and not use the USB
connection. That failed, due to some, I think, data damage on the original
disk and it fails after copying 28%. So I am trying to find a program that is
not as picky on the copy.Update: The software I have downloaded was good backup software, but I could not use it for cloning.
Til next week,
