My teenage son bid on an online auction under my account and now I'm getting messages that I'm legally liable to pay for what he won. Am I?

Dear Mom,
No wonder you're unhappy! Hope it wasn't something that's going to break your bank, because yes, you are legally bound to pay for it. And, you need to do so within the timelines agreed upon in that site's policies.
Posting a bid on an online auction is entering into a legal contract. Before said bidder can finalize their bid, the online auction site most people are familiar with reminds bidders of that on every transaction. I'm assuming your son was, therefore, made aware of that. To protect your account from piracy in the future, change your password, and don't give it out!
