Ask Annie for Nov. 12, 2003

Dear Annie,
My wife is driving me nuts with this craft stuff! She works for hours on these little angels made out of noodles and covers the kitchen counters with them. She gets ideas for things but can't do the woodwork herself so she enlists me. Usually I don't care too much but this year she's committed herself to too many Christmas bazaars, and I'm supposed to pick up the slack. She's got me gluing noodles to sticks and cutting out elf bodies every night after work when I wanted to watch sports. We need to work out some kind of compromise.
Frank from Rochester, WA

Dear Frank,
This is the second letter from Rochester in less than a month. Good to hear from your neck of the woods. What good advice you're giving yourself! Talk to your wife and see what kind of compromise you can work out. Maybe you could commit to X amount of hours a week on crafts, and after that she's on her own. Or set aside specific nights that you'd like off to watch sports. She'll probably be very receptive. Anyone who makes angels out of noodles can't be bad.
Annie

Dear Annie,
Please thank the anonymous angel who brought my son's backpack home. We can't afford to replace textbooks, school supplies and the jacket that were in it. They left it on our porch in Packwood with no note, and no one seems to know who found it. Thank you, thank you, oh kind soul. You saved more anguish than you know.

Dear Readers,
Let's be on the lookout for ways to be angels this winter. Please write and tell us when something nice happens, or you could even brag on yourself if you do a kind deed.
