*The level of 14.59 ft. on 11/06/2006 is strongly disputed, observed by many local 1977-2006 residents to have peaked about 15" lower than the 1977 flood in many places from High Valley 8 to Packwood mill. This would put the 2006 event correctly at apx. 13.34 ft. at Packwood gage.

Packwood Flood Meetings and Reports

As local real estate people indicate the CMZ maps did not significantly affect prospective purchasers' willingness to buy at reasonable prices, and Lewis County is no longer publishing those maps from its website, the Shopper has also decided to remove this matter from its website. The issue is now in "limbo", being revised. When we have further news, we will report it.

Flood Meeting held in Packwood on May 8, 2010 at the High Valley Club House; read full recap of the meeting on this special report printed in the Highway Shopper of May 12, 2010.
